About

Welcome to the HiStoryteller's world! My name is Ashutosh Patil, and I am currently working as an assistant professor of archaeology at MGM University, Chh. Sambhajianagar (Aurangabad), Maharashtra. I am an artist by heart, a numismatist by passion, and an archaeologist by profession. I try to explore the past with the help of all the non-living witnesses who have seen the past; I try to make them alive! I am here to tell you all those stories from the past.

My Journey

It began in 2017 with the collection of old coins. At the time, I had no idea how long this journey would be! I began collecting coins out of curiosity and have since become a professional archaeologist. Throughout my education, I had the opportunity to study in various parts of Maharashtra, such as Khandesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Western Maharashtra, which allowed me to gain firsthand experience with different cultures. My passion for coins turned me into a writer, and then I wrote several books on numismatics. I have completed my MA in AIHC and Archaeology at Deccan College PGRI in Pune, and my research into the past is taking me far! I'm really not sure where it will go.

Passion for Numismatics and Archaeology

My passion for archaeology and numismatics stems from a deep curiosity about the past and a desire to uncover stories that artefacts and coins can tell. archaeology and numismatics allows me to delve deeper into the past, connecting with people who lived centuries or even millennia ago. It's a journey of discovery and understanding, where every artefact or coin holds the potential to uncover something new and significant about our shared human heritage. This passion drives me to continue exploring and learning, always seeking to expand my knowledge and appreciation of the richness of history.

Professional Achievement’s

I am honored to be the youngest assistant professor at MGM University in Chh. Sambhajinagar. I have a world record in my name for my 'Coin Collection', and I am honored to have received the prestigious Best Young Numismatist Award in 2024, which recognizes my contributions to the field of numismatics. Furthermore, I have written four influential books on ancient and medieval coins in India, cementing my reputation as an expert in the field. Some of my books are on the official BA and MA syllabus. Making coin museums at MGM University, Chh. Sambhajinagar, and Shivaji Maharaj Museum, Satara, was a valuable addition to my resume.
